TL:DR - System won't post unless cmos is cleared, and even then won't properly boot into Windows.

System Specs:
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition
Gigebyte GA-990FXA-UD3
4x Corsair Dominator GT 2GB DDR3
XFX Radeon R9 270 GPU
Corsair RM850 PSU

Currently PC will only post if I've cleared cmos. After that, it will notify me that BIOS has been reset and asks for one of 3 inputs

1. Load Optimized Defaults then Boot
2. Load Optimized Defaults then Reboot
3. Enter BIOS

Both option 1&2 result in a crash if I try to boot to windows, where 3 will allow me to access the BIOS normally.

On rare occasions, after I enter BIOS and exit without modifying any settings, windows will boot to the point that it informs me that it has recovered from a crash, and asks if I'd like to run a repair tool.

At this point I've tried system restores to two recent savepoints (both of which existed while the computer was behaving normally) and also tried several times to just exit the windows repair tool and hope it boots. At best, it loads the desktop, but then crashes almost immediately.

One other note - on those rare occasions where Windows does seem to load, the resolution is always way off. Like, it seems like it's trying to display in something like 1280x720.

If it matters, this all began after a crash occurred while playing Diablo 3. Graphics fragmented, both screens went black, then partially recovered, then the system froze completely.

Any advice would be lovely at this point. Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this and is willing to offer up ideas!

Dominator GT — 2GB DDR3 Memory (CMGTX1)
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmgtx1

1) sold as single modules
2)Serial Presence Detect (SPD) Speed 1333MHz
SPD Voltage 1.5
Speed Rating PC3-19200 (2400MHz)
Tested Speed 2400MHz
Tested Voltage 1.65

I don't know why anyone would use this RAM in Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 with an FX processor unless they don't know what they are doing.

FX CPUs support 1866MHz with one DIMM per channel or 1600MHz with two DIMMs per channel. Using the correct memory speed is important, as is setting memory parameters in BIOS.
a) DRAM Frequency
b) DRAM Timings
c) DRAM voltages

Memory manufacturers guarantee the rated speed and timings of any memory to be obtainable only in the kit it is sold in. Buying single...
