Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the whole "building a pc" thing, so I'm looking to get a little help. I recently purchased a pre-built system and it runs most games pretty good, but i get heavy fps drops when playing higher end games (fallout 4, overwatch, rainbos 6 seige, etc) and I'm hoping you guys can make some recommendations as to what parts would help me run these games better. I'm currently dropping to about 12-17 fps in these games and I'd like to be at 60, but even if I could get it up to 32 minimum I'd be happy. I have an AMD Radeon HD 8470 (I think that's the right part, lemme know if you need more specs from me) and I'm really confused by the names of the parts. What do these numbers mean? Can I just get another Radeon HD that's higher than 8470? ANy help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

Your system has a 400w psu so it should have enough power for the rx550. The rx550 is about 8 times faster than your old one. Its an equal to a r9 270 so can run just about any game at 1080p. Not super fast but decent 60fps should be had.

How about listing what your system consists of? CPU, Motherboard, PSU, case size (MT, SFF).
Hard to figure an upgrade w/o knowing what we are upgrading. It sounds like a AMD platform. Possibly an FM2/FM2+ platform.
But if that is your GPU, then it means your 1st upgrade should be a new gfx card. Need to know your PSU size (make/model) too.

Awesome thank you to everyone! Since I'm here already, should I look at upgrading anything else in the future? I'd rather get it all sorted out now than wait months for another problem to arise.

Save up and get a Ryzen six core with a B350 motherboard to overclock and about 8GB's or RAM. A new PSU to make sure it runs good overclocked.
