High temps with watercooling

I recently built a computer a couple weeks ago with watercooling for the first time. The temps seemed a little high at first but I let it sit to make sure the water was functioning and the paste was completely set.

However, the temps still seem high to me currently with just a couple programs open I am getting around mid 30's with jumps to 40 and 50 sometimes (is this normal with watercooling?) my max temps don't seem too bad. I like to stay around low 70's max and it has gotten to 76 at the highest.

I am using a corsair h70 on a i7 7700k if that helps

Are these temps fine, or did I possibly do something wrong?

Thanks in advance

I have a kraken x62 on an i7 4790k. It sits idle at 44c and can get upwards of mid 70s. In short, yes, your temps are normal, and perfectly safe. You only really need to worry if the cpu goes above 85c. On a 140mm radiator you shouldn't be expecting much more from it.
