I have been thinking about purchasing the ASUS VivoMini VC65R-G039M Barebone i5 mini-PC to make it my "permanent working station" at my parents house.

Here is a link of the product: https://www.amazon.com/VivoMini-VC65R-G039M-Barebones-generation-Processor/dp/B01EZH6782/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499052749&sr=8-1&keywords=ASUS+VivoMini+VC65R-G039M+Barebones+Mini+PC

I work as a full time translator and I have noticed that running heavy translation software such as SDL Trados 2015 along with MemoQ 8.1 and Adobe Acrobat XI usually trashes any regular desktop or laptop I ever buy turning it into a really slow and painful system to work with.

At home I have a system with this specs:

Memory (RAM): 16337 MB
CPU Info: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz
Display Adapters: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
Hard Disks: C: 223,0GB | D: 931,4GB
Manufacturer *: American Megatrends Inc.
Product Make *: Z170X-Gaming 3
Motherboard *: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z170X-Gaming 3

As it is a gaming desktop its speed blows your mind as I use it only for working. So, I am not sure what shold I expect from this barebone system.

The heaviest software I usually install on a PC are:

---Can't live without these---
Bitdefender antivirus
SDL Trados Studio 2015
MemoQ 8.1
ABBYY Fine Reader
Adobe Acrobat Pro XI
Microsoft Office 2016

---I can live without these---
Adobe Photoshop CC 2017
Adobe Illustrator CC 2017
Adobe InDesign CC 2017

So.... What are these "regular desktops" specifically you're refering too?
I don't see why the software you use would have any trouble running on them, except maybe they're low on ram (like 4gbs or less).
