HP Envy mobo for my custom build

Can i use a HP Envy mobo for my build?

Mt friend got his old mobo lying around (IPM17-TP) it was pre built with an i7 6700k and gtx 980 ti, so i assume i can i use it with an i5 7600k and a gtx 1070 but are there any issues i should take in consideration?

If you have the stuff that was pre built with it stick with the i7 6700k you are not gaining much by going to the i5 7600k and the gpu I'm not an nvidia guy but by looking the and hearing the 1070 they are pretty similar in performance

and when you read it the main reason to go to the 1070 is it more efficient and a little more better. If you don't have the pre built stuff the 1070 will work on that board but I don't know about the i5.

ok hmmm In my opinion I would just get a new board yes they are pricey but it better in the long run and I really don't think the board support the kaby lakes since oem like to limit the cpu.

Ok, haven't tought about this way, but you sure have a point i belive. Will have to do more research. I was hoping to save about 120 euros but if the cpu isn't running 100% its not worth it
