I'm in the process of doing several upgrades, including going from a Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz to a Core 2 Quad 3.0 GHz. I've already confirmed that the CPU is compatible with the MB / chipset. The CPU should arrive today (July 3rd).
I've upgraded to the latest BIOS on the Dell site for the Inspiron 560. However, will a different BIOS be needed for the Quad Core? If so, where do I find it?
Also, the BIOS I have gives precious little information about the hardware. For example, no details about CAS latency. No adjustments to the RAM are possible. Tweaking anything is out of the question. Is there a completely different BIOS available, perhaps from a third party?
