GPU not being detected but is clearly working.

Recently I put back my gtx 660 in my old computer, I used it in this PC before and it worked fine. However after putting it back in the computer did not detect it, one note is that the lock on the pcie broke and after that it didn't work. So I thought it might be the pcie port, but I tried my old 7750 and it worked fine. So I thought it might be the GPU so I put it in my really old PC and it worked, but that PC didn't have the 6 pin power connector for the gtx 660. I've cleaned out the PCIE and have plugged the GTX 660 with the 6 pin power connector. My motherboard has the 4pin power also connected. I've tried downloading drivers but the 660 isn't detected not even in control panel.

Solution
if it's able to wobble about, it could well be that it simply isn't sitting correctly in the pcie slot because of the broken lock arm.

only other thing that comes to mind is to try and reset all bios settings to default.

after that, it could be that the PSU is on it's way out (ie. providing power, but not enough). Probably unlikely if it's up to spec and worked with it before though.

seeing as the 7750 worked, I'm wondering if you've got some kind of radeon/nvidia driver conflict

have you tried a complete DDU driver wipe and then re-install?

Also, when you power up the PC are the fans spinning on the 660?

The fans on the 660 are on, and I just installed this build of Windows two days ago never installed any AMD drivers. My motherboard is a 960gm-gs3. In the bios there are options for AMD CPU options since mine is a 4100fx. No options though to pick display for GPU.

'one note is that the lock on the pcie broke and after that it didn't work'

although the 7750 worked, it might still have something to do with that ^

Try with the PC on its side (so the mobo is facing up).

When the PC is upright and the pcie lockarm broken, the weight of the card might be causing it to not sit right in the pcie slot

I've left it on it's side this whole time still doesn't work. The card does wobble back in forth, I've moved it while on not working though.http://

I think you might be right about the PSU going bad. I've tried both 6 pin connectors for the 660. I'm going to unplug everything and redo it all. Thanks for the help.
