Do i need to add thermal paste to my cpu?

Hey guys i am thinking of buying my first custom build gaming pc and i was wondering if i should also consider getting thermal paste and adding it to my cpu (intel i7 7600k) before installing the liquid cpu cooler.

Of course you need to add thermal paste (before installing any type of cooler). Some CPU coolers comes with (pre applied) thermal paste.

If the CPU cooler has it already applied (many do), you don't need to do anything.
If it just comes with a tube, then you need to apply it, from that tube of goo.

You probably don't need to buy anything extra.
