I have taken delivery of a Leibert Emerson UPS , GXT3-2000RT230 ( second hand ).

It was made safe for transport by putting it into " any mode shutdown" by apparently bridging terminals 1 and 2 on the rear of the unit which isolates the batteries from the DC bus inside.

How do i bring it back into active mode so i can use it ?

When i follow the manual guide to wake it up by pushing the on/alarm silence/manual battery test button for 3 seconds it does nothing , just beeps once every few seconds. The error codes says "On bypass due to DC/DC power supply failure"

any suggestions ?

As per the manual, "any mode shutdown" is disabled when you remove the short between pins 1 and 2. There is a warning that if the option for "auto enable" is active, the UPS will turn on by itself as soon as the short is removed.

Have you removed the bridge before trying to power it on?

If you have, it would be a good idea to check if the internal batteries are connected, and even if they are there at all, since you mentioned it is a second hand device.
