Hello, it's been a while since i've logged on these wise forums and what has dettermined me to do it is an important choice that I'll be making in the next few days and you've guessed : getting a new GPU ! I'm sorry if it's gonna be alot to read but as I know you guys are proffesionals I'll try to describe everything as professional as I can.

The post might look noobish but I've been outside of the GPU market (information wise) since 2012 and atm I have close to 0 information about what's out there for me.

The GPU that I'm replacing is a trusy old XFX 2GB 6950 XXX Edition bought in 2011 (http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/32246-xfx-radeon-hd-6950-2gb-dd-xxx/)
Yes "I've been" and AMD enthusiast xD

My current specs combined with the GPU mendioned above are are :

CPU : i7 4790k at 4.4 Ghz
Motherboard : GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK
Drive : Samsung 840 Evo 500GB SSD
PSU : Zalman ZM700-LX 700W
Memory : Vengeance® Pro Series — 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 2400MHz C11
Case : Segotep SG-XT-NF MiddleTower type ( can't find any english translated link for this )

As far as my budget goes I can afford a MAXIMUM of : 310 Euros

And now, my questions for you almighty PC Gurus \(o_O)/

1) What are some of the best GPU out there that I can buy within my budget and why ?
2) Will I need to replace my PSU/Case to accomodate my new GPU ?
3) Any, and absolute ANY info that you can share with me will be appreciated ! ( that is not a question *facepaw*)

As always, my thanks are in advance and sori for any english mistake ! Luv u all :*

P.S : "I've been" means that I am also open minded into buying Nvidia lol
P.S 2 : I'm from Romania so it might be a while since new stuff hits markets here + it might be overpriced AF

You might want to hold off a bit. I see you're an AMD GPU buyer. The problem is... all the mid to upper level AMD cards are sold out right now (been like that for weeks now)... and the retailers that do have them.. marked them up 2-3 times more.

You can more easily find and NVidia card like the 1070 or above... but I doubt you'd want to pay $400+... and the 1060 cards are marked up a tiny bit as well.

Oh Wait... you mentioned Euros?? If you're in the EU then you shouldn't have that much trouble finding a good GPU out there.

Any info on the price range of a "mid" performance RX Vega card ? As I might do as you've mentioned and w8 4 it all while saving and adding more money to my budget till then.

It's not about the vega themselves, it's about how they will affect the pricing of everything else. For instance, if a vega model comes in at the same price as a 1070 but performs like a 1080 then the 1070 will have to get a price reduction, which will ripple through the stack. So the card you buy today could be 10% cheaper in 6 weeks, now there is the addage of never waiting as there is always something around the corner, but here it is just around the corner.

The GPU mining issues have blown all of this up of course.
