Hello all!

I currently have a core i5 6600K on an ASUS Z170 Pro (with last BIOS version), I have overclocked my cpu to 4.8GHz with a vcore of 1.40V (I have tried 1.35V and it works too) and everything seems to be normal, Windows boots without a problem and I can use the computer to surf the internet and play some games like Age of Empires II without freezings or restarts.

My question is: Should I keep the 1.40V or roll back to 1.35V? I have tried to run Prime95 and when I start the blend test, 3 workers (cores) fails when initiates the test but the first worker test keeps running, the only problem I have found is that the cpu temp. reaches 78ºC-80ºC. If I stress the cpu with CPU-Z, I get all four cores running at 4.8GHz but the temps. keeps on 62ºC maximum.

On Idle time, the cpu keeps 22ºC, which is good, because I am using a 360mm radiator to cool down.

So, what are your thoughts guys?

if you're playing games like age of empires do you really need to overclock? it sounds like your system is unstable if prime95 has workers quitting. i wouldn't go past 1.40 (i wouldn't go over 1.35 actually) maybe you should consider reducing your multipliers till prime95 can run stable.
