NZXT H440 Air Cooling Fan Setup Confusion

I am looking to install new fans into the case, as it doesn't have the best cooling. I know that installing top fans would be more efficient than replacing all the existing fans.

I want to install two 140mm Intake Static Pressure fans on the top of the case, as I know that positive pressure works best on this particular case as it has limited intake. Is this the correct thinking or not?

Would I be able to install the fans onto the top of the case? I don't understand what a radiator is. Why would I need a radiator, is that needed for mounting the fans? I am new to this.

First of all, on the h440 you should have the three front 120mm fans as an intake, not two fans on the top. The second part about positive pressure is a bit confusing but I think this is what you should know; Static pressure fans are best for pushing air through tight spaces like a heatsink or a radiator. Positive pressure is when you have more air coming into the case then coming out, this prevents dust from building up on your PC. But, on the h440, you have very tight front intakes and top exhausts, so I would recommend putting 3x nf-f12's as an intake, two as an exhaust on top and to keep the included exhaust fan on the back there. A radiator is a component used in watercooling, so If you have an AIO watercooler, or you plan on creating a custom loop, then you would mount a radiator at the desired location. (Depends on length of radiator) Meanwhile, if you are cooling your CPU by air, you're using a heatsink which does not use a radiator at all. Air CPU coolers don't have to mount to anywhere on the case other than the motherboard. And no, you do not have to have a radiator to mount fans onto your case, the fans come with included screws that can be used to mount the fans onto the chassis.

Now, if you do own an AIO or a closed loop, the radiator will come with included screws to mount it. You should get a small screw for every mounting corner, so if a radiator fits 2 fans, it will need 8 screws because each fan needs 4 screws to be mounted. These short screws can be used to mount the radiator directly to the case. There should also be a couple long screws, you use these to mount the fans to the radiator by putting the screw through the fan and straight into the radiator.
