Hello everyone, I just built my first pc and I came across a problem, when I tired to boot up windows (both through usb and DVD using an external optical drive) there would be a pop up saying that no driver's could be detected, I used all the different usb ports in my ASUS B250F motherboard and I used the usb 3.0 ports In my nzxt s340 and still nothing, I've changed boot order in the bios and that didn't work either.

In my pc there is the b250f motherboard, gigabyte 1050ti you, intel core i5 6500 skyline, 8gb ddr4 corsair vengeance ram 1tb wd blue hard drive and a corsair vs 650W psu
Furthermore there is a solid orange light above my front panel connectors, and I don't know what that means...
Can anyone help, if greatly appreciate it
Thanks

Kind of like getting into bios the motherboard requires you press a function key on boot for boot menu. That should allow you to boot from USB. If not then you may have to enter bios and set it to legacy for windows 7. Understand Microsoft doesnt want you running windows 7 on kabylake so its going to take some extra jumping through hoops. Here is the ez tools and bios updates.

Your situation is exactly the same as another user this week. You have to get the USB 3.0 EZ install utility to pre load those drivers prior to Windows 7 installation on that board. Go to Asus, look up your board model. Under support , go to utilities. They have a driver install for USB to assist you in the Windows 7 effort.

By the way, the other user said he got the iIntel chipset 3.0 USB drivers and "forced" them to install during his windows 7 installation. I have no clue what he meant by "forced". Bottom line, you have to install those USB 3.0 drivers for windows 7 to install on that board.

Here is another option..... that external optical drive which connects via USB. I bet if you removed it from the case , you will find a standard optical drive with sata an power connector. If so, you can be a genius and spoof an internal optical drive by connecting the sata and power connectors in you case to it. Then you can boot straight from the install cd. All you requisite mother board drivers and utilities can then be installed after the operating system set up. Sound like a plan.
