Motherboard not detecting my GPU

Hi guys, I built my computer about 4-5 years ago now and my motherboard has stopped detecting my GPU. I have my monitor connected to the motherboard because it is using the integrated graphics. I hope the graphics card is not dead, but I have checked to make sure the connection is secure in the PCIe slot as well as the power supply but still no luck. Is there any way to maybe get it back up and running or is it likely a dead card/PCIe slot and if so how could I test these criteria to determine if the board of the GPU needs to be replaced. Like I said I would love to not have to replace the GPU but age may be a factor here. Here is my set up.

asrock extreme z77 motherboard
asus nvidia 660 GPU
intel i5 ivybridge architecture
16 gb of ram
ssd and traditional HD
running windows 10 home edition.

Thanks for your help. Just to be clear the GPU is not detected in bios i.e. the PCIe slot is deemed as empty by the motherboard.

It would be helpful to test that card in another computer, or test a known working card in your computer. It is most likely the videocard.

By 'check to make sure' do you mean you removed the card entirely and reinstalled it? Because that's what I'd do. Just looking at it, or wiggling it to see if it's loose isn't going to help. Same with the power supply connection, disconnect it entirely, then reconnect it. Speaking of which, what kind of power supply do you have? If it can't supply the card then you will have problems.

I fully removed the card, cleaned the port and the card then reinserted it. I haven't removed the power supply cord but the power light is still lit up green on the card showing its receiving power. The power supply is a corsair HX 650 so it should be more than enough.
