I ordered a new PC yesterday and with that new pc I ordered a H115i cooler for my i7-7700k, but I realized the cpu doesnt come with an intel heatsink and I dont want to install the h1151 and make it a hassle for me (unless I have to), so I was wondering if i can use an old 1150 intel heatsink and kinda hold it into place for a couple seconds till the PC posts and then install everything?

You don't even have to hold it in place - the mounting holes are the same, and any cooler that works on 1150 will work on 1151 as well.

If you don't mind my asking (personal curiosity), what hardware did you have before, and what are your full specs now?
