Hello everyone,

First build and its a ryzen. Games like overwatch and BF1 crash computer anywhere from the loading screen to very early in a game. Black screen, keyboard and mouse off. Tower stays on. Fans spinning, no noticeable change in speeds. Have downloaded monitoring programs to verify that temperatures are in an acceptable range. Anywhere from 30 to 45c on the GPU and CPU. Attempted to use a friends RX 480 with the same results. I would like to note that I can play Rising Storm 2 Vietnam for 3 hours plus before resulting in a crash. Sometimes earlier though. I tried reseating Ram and CPU. Attempted 1 stick at a time in many configurations. No luck. Tried adjusting RAM clock speeds and some light overclocking settings for the CPU. Everything attempted was done so individually. Changed the PSU from a EVGA 650 to n EVGA 750. No change. Ran Furmark, prime95 never resulting in a crash. Also I am utilizing the Ryzen power plan downloaded from the AMD site. No change after using this. GPU drivers are current from NVIDIA.

BUILD:
MB: Ryzen X370 Killer SLI/ac
CPU: Ryzen 1600
GPU: Asus 1060 6gb
RAM: Geil Evo X 2x8gb
PSU: EVGA 750
SSD: WD 250gb
HDD: WD 1tb

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have been battling for weeks. Cheers

Solution
Feel your pain I have been at this now for over a month myself ... it's not the board. one last thing I did do that i did not say before in the other post . I did power down and disassemble the rig CPU out of the socket and all and put it back did a clean install and bios update MSI has a new beta bios maybe yours does too run it it can't get worse. I'm running now but if I change the dam ram any at all crash town all over again... it's the dang CPU and I hope they can fix this with the updates. check...
Let's certainly drop any/all overclocks (wise, given current instability), and drop mem speeds down to semi-approved/default 2133 MHz or so...

Default your BIOS, ensure power plan set to 'balanced'...(YOu can try 'performance' after making it thru 1 hour of BF1

I'd check your MB manufacturers' data, and see if your memory is approved, and if so, at what speed/timings and, at what voltage...

(FYI, some new Nvidia drivers came out only 4-5 days ago, so I'd try those too)

Sorry for the late response. Running everything stock. I did manually set cpu and vcore to the stock 1.25v for the cpu. I received some gskill ram 2400. Was on the QVL for the x370 killer sli/ac. Thought i had the solution but problem persists. Ran overwatch for 10 minutes before dropping out. I will try the new Nvidia drivers. I am utilizing the ryzen power plan downloaded from AMD.

Try to manually setting voltage on the CPU lower. Does this only happen when you try starting up certain games, and starting up the computer when power draw is highest? It might be the power supply if this is happening while gaming.

I will get into a game or crash when I am just about to enter. I noticed while playing RS2 Vietnam it occurs when there is a big change in game such as an explosion. Maybe this is coincidence.

Has never crashed during any other activity than gaming. Usually as I enter an actual online game or very early into gameplay besides rising storm.

i'm sure as hell that you don't have any hardware problem.

update your bios to latest version.

load default bios settings.

this is the important part : DISABLE CPU CORE BOOST from bios and test your build with aida 64 and i think your problem would go away. after disabling cpu core boost you could overclock your build stably

I will try the aida 64. I have no intention of OCing much. I am unable to just run games normally. I have the latest BIOS 2.50. Thanks for all help everyone. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this. :)

Monitor keyboard and mouse turn off. Everything in case stays running.

share us the result after disabling cpu core boost or if you find the source of problem.

cpu voltage and vcore locked at 1.25. Core performance boost disabled. How long should i run AIDA? Games still crash with these changes

Did you try running the game with all the different inputs on the video card? What input are you using? Try switching to the lower PCI-E slot after you try all the different inputs.

I actually set my computer up using my living room tv through HDMI before i had my monitor. im using a display port currently. BF1 actually shut off on my tv too. I have moved the GPU to the bottoms slot before with the same results as well as tried a buddies rx 480 with no change.
