Hello there, i'm sorry if i'm opening a new thread, but that's a whole different question.
There's a good sale on this ram kit :
G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
I'd like to use with x299 platform, in particular with an Asus TUF Mark 1 x299. I was wondering if there could be any compatibility issue.
I'm also planning to buy another kit in the future to use the quad-channel feature of the mobo.
Any clue? Thank you.

EDIT : The exact model is : F4-3200C16D-16GTZR. On GSkill's website they're marked as compatible with the x299 Mark 1 for KabyLake x in Dual Channel. Will they work for skylake-x in dual instead?

Solution
Probably will work. You are wasting 1/2 the memory bandwidth by only using 2 DIMMs. There is no guarantee that buying two more DIMMs later will play nicely with the ones you already have. If you are going to drop the high $$$ for an X299 board, get a quad channel matched memory set.
