So the problem is that once my battery is low on charge or at any point of time i want to charge, i have either to hibernate or switch off for the battery to charge. If its turned on and i connect the charger it wont charge, like it wont show anything at all not even plugged in not charging, The problem is with my old laptop, its a compaq 420.But once i do that either switch off or hibernate and charge, i can turn it back on and it will still be charging. the problem is i cant charge the laptop at any random point of time unless i switch off or hibernate and turn it back on.
