My boss used to be able to print 100 copies in one run with his old Konica 7020 laser printer, but now he can only manage to print 5 copies in one run.
I searched around the web but found nothing about any problem like this.

Solution
Faulty sensor perhaps. 5 copies, something is getting hot and triggers a false jam signal.

Try a strategically placed fan to cool the printer while printing - see if a few more copies will print out.

Start from a cool printer.

Any error messages or pop-up windows with some printing related comment?

Has he been using some default printer setting to always print 100 copies? Check and reset if necessary.

Try reinstalling the printer drivers if you can find them. Download from Konica (Konica Minolta) if at all possible.

He said there is only one message. It says "Paper jam". But it has no jam, and can print the first 5 without a problem.
And yes, he used the same exact settings.

Update: It printed more than 550 000 copies in it's ~20 years run so maybe it's just freaking old. :D

Thanks for your help. I will do the strategic cooler option today. :D
If it doesn't help, a proper service man will see if he can do anything about it. If not, then new printer. :p
