So Ive had a hell of a time with setting up a new computer over the last few weeks. First, my old cpu died so I built a new system. My first system was on a Maximus XI Hero board. But after problems with Dimm slot A1 and A2 causing q code 55, I found that this is a huge problem with the board. I sent that back and got instead a Maximus VIII Formula board. I have an Intel i7-7700k LGA1151 unlocked pocessor, a Geforce 1080 graphics card (It works, checked it in 2 other systems, runs fine), 4 x 16gb DDR4 Corsair Vengeance memory (Again I know the memory works, used it in the last system fine, other than A1 and A2 slots, but all 4 worked in the B1 B2 slots).

What could be causing this error? Everything Ive read says something about a skylake cpu.... No idea what that means. And the q code means nothing to me. Help please!

Btw, I just flashed the bios to the newest available using the bios flash button and a usb stick. Still same code.

So... Sorry guys. After my last response, I tried resetting the Cmos and it works. My bad for posting before trying that! Anyway, seems like Asus has a problem sending their boards that are supposed to be compatible with I7-7700 chips out without the right bios.... Think they would fix that lol. Had to flash the bios, then reset the Cmos, and whalla, works! Thanks for trying to help!

Not 100% sure, I went to bed and left it overnight. When I tried it this morning, it proceeded until q code 70, froze there for 10 sec, then rebooted. Now it wont stop rebooting every 5-10 sec. *sigh*
