Laptop Processor Upgrade

I have an 4-year old ASUS laptop. The following are the details of the laptop:

Model - k55VJ
Processor - i7 3630QM 2.4 GHz
Ram - 8GB
Graphics - Nvidia GeForce GT 635M 2GB

I want to upgrade my processor to the latest processor at least. Would that be possible?

It's worth pointing out that the 3740QM is only about 10% faster though, which would probably make it a pretty pointless upgrade.

Yeah this is true. If I were the OP I would be thinking about a whole platform upgrade (ie new laptop) with a better GPU if they game.
