Recently my computer has a problem where it has been disconnecting and reconnecting all USB ports throughout the PC. Including motherboard ports and front panel. The problem then got worse after about a week where it disconnected after about 20 minutes of the computer being on and never reconnected, resulting in me restarted the PC every 20 minutes. My computer is quite old (6years) and I have a sneaking suspicion that it is my USB controller, though I am not sure. I have contacted windows and they helped me reinstall all windows drivers. I also reinstalled windows 10. My motherboard does have problem like 3 RAM slots don't work.

Parts are as follow:
i5 2320 @3.30 Ghz
4gb ddr3 1333Mhz RAM
Mobo Acer IPISB-VR Rev 1.0 H67
AMD Radeon HD 6570 GPU
SSD for windows and HDD

Happy to tell any other required information

I was having this same problem (Dell Inspiron 15 5000) and it was driving me crazy. I'd be typing and the mouse & keyboard simply disconnected for no apparent reason. Updated drivers....took it to the geek guys a number of times.....spent hours on google......was about to give up when someone suggested I check the power settings. DUH,,,,,

1. Open device manager
2. click on Universal serial bus controllers
3. right click on each one
4. open power management window
5. check to see if the "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" box is checked
6. uncheck the box and close the window.
Problem solved for this guy......hope it works

Socket pins of the motherboard bent?
Which power supply is it.

I have the same issues myself with the H67, but I think the usb ports itself are the problem. Contact problems inside or bad soldering to the motherboard. You can get a USB controller card if it would be it

I have had the computer for well over a year now and there have previously been no problems. The socket is perfectly fine. So I don't think it can be bad soldering but, I will try a USB controller card. Any idea how much they cost?

Sadly this wasnt the fix. I just went out and put a new powersupply in and it still disconnects. Though not as frequently and I think only in games? If you might still know a fix that would be greatly appreciated.
