Upgrade from gtx 960 for gpu with 75w

Hello, i would like to get about same performance than the gtx 960 or better but with 75w, its not like my psu cant handle it, its a be quiet 710w.

Does gpu have improved since then? I mainly upgrade for smaller and less power consuming systems, and the most quiet possible.

A GTX 1050 is about equal performance to a GTX 960, and requires no extra power connections (sub 75w). That would be the way to go.

i see, do you think is it better to wait for vega (i think its called this), my gtx 960 is a little to noisy for my taste

The early Prosumer model Vegas are already out (cheaper than the Enterprise Firepros but still not consumer cards) and they use 300 or 375w. Do you think those would really be quieter than your 120w 960?

well my amd 6950 was, but i was expecting lower tier vega cards with better performance and lower power usage.

Ps, its the ASUS GTX 960 TURBO, its cooler is always running at 30% and i cant manage to turn it off

WHy are you set on a 75W GPU? YOur PSU can definitely handle a better gpu (considering your CPU can handle it). A gtx 1060 6gb would be much better in terms of performance and will be pretty quiet as well (also it doesn't use a lot of power).

There are a lot of GTX 1060s that run very quiet, and turn the fan off when only light gaming.

I'm still on my 2+ yr old Asus Strix GTX 960. It is very silent despite the fact that I have enabled aggressive fan profile in EVGA Precision X OC software. Are you sure it's your GPU that makes the noise?
