Just a quick question, my current system is an i5 3570k, 8gb DDR3 and two 960 SSC 4gb SLI. Should i upgrade now or wait for coffee lake?

Thanks :)

What is prompting this upgrade? The i5-3570K is still a competent CPU. If your primary focus is games, you might do something like get a single GTX1080; otherwise, unless specific benchmarks show needed improvements, you might simply be wasting money.

I would suggest that you wait but if you can't wait till late 2018 then I'd suggest that you build a system with either the AM4 platform or Intel Kabylake platform. What sort of tasks do you drop onto your existing system? I'm sure it can hold it's ground until Coffee lake is released.

If those come out over $400, I'd recommend getting a new GPU before getting a new CPU.

well ive upgraded parts of my system already, such as case, cpu cooler, PSU, keyboard, mouse, mousepad. I suppose its more of an aesthetics thing as my upgraded parts are RGB, while my RAM and motherboard are decked out in blue. My other conscern is if i upgrade to the i7 7700k now, will coffee lake be the same socket so i dont have to upgrade my motherboard when coffee lake is released.

So far Intel hasn't been good about sticking with the same socket type up until Kabylake/Skylake so I wouldn't count on it but they may surprise us. As far as waiting on the major parts goes I would at least wait on the GPU since GPU prices are nuts right now due to the renewed interest in bitcoin mining driving up demand.

So i should wait until coffee lake, then upgrade my major components?
