Hello guy I have two CPUs Intel i3 540 over clocked to 3.4 GHz and petium g2030. I want to know which is better for gaming
Full specs
Gpu- nvidia gt 1030
Ram -6 GB
450 w PSU
Intel dh55pj motherboard with Intel i3 540 and Asus with g2030
Hdd Toshiba 1 tb.
Actually the g2030 bottlenecks my GPU while playing ac unity but i3 540 doesn't even at base clock with hyper threading enabled but rest games work fine on both i3 and g2030 . so I M a little confused.

Model of the Asus board by which you'll migrate to the G2030? In retrospect, they are both the same. They might have 2 generations of difference between them but they are the same CPU in terms of performance. The reason the G2030 struggles is because the i3 has hyper threading giving you 4 threads instead of just working with 2 cores like the G2030.

Please keep in mind though that the i3-540 ins't a processor to keep you for a long while. Game developers are now asking more from the system and as such older dual core processors are becoming obsolete.

The Intel motherboard you speak of has limited functionality(even more so for overclocking). If you're talking about software based overclocking, then no. If you're thinking of jerry rigging the BIOS to overclock the system, if it's expandable then that's another matter.
