My desktop will not boot and just beeps at me (4 long, 1 short) when I install new ram.

The mobo is a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H (according to the Crucial scanner).

I'm trying to install a 4gb A-Tech DDR2 PC2-5300 DIMM/667MHz 2Rx4 stick. I've tried taking the cmos battery out, installing the new ram alongside the existing (there are currently 2x4gb sticks in 4 slots), installing the new ram by itself. Nothing is working.

Help is appreciated!

Thats because its ECC ram, made for servers, and either your motherboard will only support unbuffered non-ECC ram or if it does, it wont work along side non ECC ram which I expect your other sticks are.
