So me being dumb and not really being good at building PC's I messed up. I currently have an ASUS motherboard and 4 x 4 GB sticks of RAM. Whenever I have 2 sticks in the motherboard it runs fine and all is well, I don't have any problems. However whenever I try to use all 4 of my sticks the RAM LED (The little light thats a yellow/orange color) either flashes on and off bout every 3 seconds or completely stays on. Also the baord does not post and go into BIOS or start Windows or anything. Obviously it's a RAM problem, but I don't know what to do ;/

And just to add to it, and old build I had I did the same thing. I bought 4 sticks and they didn't work all together, only 2 at a time. Turns out they were not compatible the the board I had, so this time around I made sure that they were! I know they work with my board! So obviously the problem is lack of knowledge. I'm missing something and don't know what to do.

Here are the specs:

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C17Q-16GVK

ASUS PRIME Z270-A LGA 1151 Intel Z270 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Motherboards - Intel

Intel Core i5-6600 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 1151 65W BX80662I56600 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530

Any chance that you are talking about specific 2 rams or is it like any two will work and 4 won't, in any order?

Try switching the slots for the rams. Use alternatively. Try putting two on alternate slots and then turning on. Then again put the remaining two rams in the remaining two alternate slots.

As you said, any two will work but 4 won't. They're all the same brand, speed, and stuff.

Right now I just have 2 is the B-slots. The computer runs and doesn't turn off/on or anything. It just doesn't post past the RAM. I read somewhere that maybe my CPU can't keep up with my RAM speed?
