I just finished building my dream PC, but it takes a ridiculously long time to post. Getting to the sign in screen takes about 43 seconds. about 25 seconds passes before I see it post.

Specs
7800x
msi x299 sli plus
corsair rm 850 psu
32gb corsair vengeance rgb 3000mhz ddr4
strix 1070
512 gb samsung 960 pro nvme for my OS
1tb crucial mx300 m.2 drive
1tb seagate hybrid drive
2tb external drive

I know that putting the OS on an NVME will delay the post a bit due to the PCIE bus initialization taking longer than SATA, but this is excessive. Is it because I have so many drives installed?

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

I also have the same issue with this board. I opened a support ticket with msi let's see what they say. Takes way too long to boot. Also the system does not always resume from sleep. It turns back on but never loads back into windows and the led shows 00. Everything lights up and fans are spinning but no display. I flip the power switch on the power supply to off then on again and it loads windows but it's not resumed from sleep state. I'm a bit frustrated at this point with this board. My first two boards had issues and had to be replaced. The first one worked for two days then died. The second board was totally doa. This is the third board and it works but I'm hoping for a bios update at some point.

I'm runnng i9 7900x with 16 gigs of corsair 3200 MHz ram, gtx 1080ti and Samsung m2 960 evos 1 tb each raid 0

My first board was DOA. It looks like you need to play the RMA game until you get a board that works. I was lucky enough to get a functional second board.

Does the new board post quicker? Msi said Rma the board which I can but I'm wondering if your new is any better. I noticed a few other issues as well. Just getting to actual windows 10 boot takes like 25 seconds before it actually starts the windows boot from a cold boot and I'm using the latest bios. I also noticed when the system resumes from sleep the CPU is stuck at 3.3 ghz. I have to shut the system down completely then turn it back on after that in order for it to boost to 4.5 ghz when loaded. Another thing I seem to notice is resuming from sleep state works like half the time. When it does not work I get power but no display and the led code on the board shows 00. Again I have to power it down completely then turn it on to get back in to windows.
