I have had my pc for over a year now and i want to get an ssd to put into the pc, but my friend is telling me that it won't make my pc faster. I want all of my pc functions to happen on my SSD, as well as booting, but the storage on a HDD. He says i have to get a brand new copy of windows for this to work. Please help me out here?

Solution
1. SSD will make PC faster to respond if you only have a HDD now. It should boot in half time of a hdd and it helps load times of all applications on it. Once you go SSD, you can't go back.

2. No, you don't need a new copy of windows to install it on a SSD, changing drives has never been a big enough change to require a new license

What version of windows is it?
