So basically, I bought this computer back in 2013 as I was really wanting to get more into PC gaming. (Other than playing Civ III on my parents comp lol) and I've been needing to upgrade. I bought a GTX 750 ti and it's been serving me well but it's time to make a change. I'm not exactly tech savvy and sadly I prefer to take the easy route and ask people who truly know what they're doing rather than researching myself. I was wondering if a GTX 1060 would be compatible with my motherboard (listed below) thank you in advance for any answers. Here are my exact comp specs.

CPU : Intel Core i5 4440 @ 3.10GHz

RAM : 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz

Motherboard : Gateway DX4885 (LGA1150)

GPU : 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (EVGA)

Also, due to the fact my technological understandings are negligible, I was curious as to whether or not my CPU should be upgraded as well. I've also heard around the grape vine that your case comes into play when upgrading. Whether or not some components could fit etc etc. I have the default Gateway case. If that's necessary information, if not I apologize. Thanks!

You should be fine, but if you still use the 80 plus 300W PSU, you have to buy other PSU, because 300W is not enough for the gtx1060.

Also double check the space for the gtx1060. But if this is your PC, I think you are fine. http://www.xpcmontreal.com/en/product/gateway-dx4885-ub3a/#
