So a couple of days back i purchased a MSi aegis 3 gaming desktop. After one day of use it suddenly shut down without warning and i am not able to start it back up again. I contacted the place where i bought is and they dais that it might be the power supply. I already went trough the whole MSI waranty stuff and UPS is picking it up today to ship it to Poland from Belgium. Now my question is, did i do something wrong or was it just a faulty power supply to begin with. I have it plugged into a surge protector along with my monitor, PS4 and phone charger.

Thanks in advance.

I apologize, I must've confused two threads at the same time.

Now as per your original question, your post doesn't indicate what you were doing on the system so it's not possible to say if you actually did anything wrong on it. If the system was idling(or you were performing a non demanding task) and it shut down on you then the unit might've come faulty from the factory.

So long as your surge protector/power strip is individually powering each of the aforementioned device's, you're good to go.

It could even be the battery, provided the laptop isn't powering when you have the battery connected. Another thing to look at is if the device gets any form of indication that power is being delivered. A light on your laptop(indicating it's charging or receiving power) or the adapter getting warm is an indication that the power is being fed from the power brick/adapter.

Exepct it's not a laptop it's a desktop, the link to the site is in the original question.
Thanks for the effort however.
