Solution Phillip Corcoran Jul 7, 2017 If you were to install the new CPU first, your system wouldn't be able to POST, so you wouldn't be able to update the BIOS anyway. So BIOS update with old CPU installed is the only way you'd be able to do it. You have no choice in the matter.
