I am trying to build a new computer while using my old desktop case but I've been having trouble not powering on. I figured it had something to do with the pins but don't know what to do since the case seems to not have the separated power connectors (Power switch, HDD LED, etc.).

Power Supply: SeaSonic SSR-650RM 650W ATX12V / EPS12V
Motherboard: MSI Z270-A PRO LGA 1151
CPU: i7-7700K

Picture of the case:

Diagrams of the pins

1: [o][o][ ][o] (Only red and white wire attached to the right two)

2.[o][o][o][o][o]
[o][o][o][o][ ] (only 6 wires are attached with colors red, black, brown, and orange)

Solution
There is only a very weak standard for the mobo pins for power reset etc. so it is quite quite possible that dell did not follow it and that both their mobo and the pins are different to any other mobo.

You can break the block (use a knife) and use the pins as the new mobo needs them. Use the old mobo for reference if needed.

DO not attempt to power it on until you are sure.

Assuem the MSI Z270-A PRO LGA 1151 labels the pins. You do not need anything attached to teh header to start the PC, you just need to short the two pins for the power button for 1/2 a second to start it. You can find videos of this on youtube. I just use a screwdriver to bridge the gap between the power pins for an instant.

Once you verify that the MB will start when the leads are jumped then you jsut need to attach the power button to the MB. When the power button is pressed you can use a multi-meter to find out which pins in the incoming header in the dell case are from the power switch. The leads will have no continuity when the button is not pressed and will be shorted when the button is pressed. Then get a $5 PC power switch from ebay, cut off its leads and splice its leads to the leads from the dell switch.
