The issue you're facing is seen across all GPU's from the GTX700 series and onwards(and AMD equivalent) due to a lack of a compatible BIOS environment. The system you have at hand is a prebuilt and will very likely not have any more BIOS updates. As such it'd be a good idea if you drop down a notch to the GT620 if you don't want to change the PSU in your system.

Speaking of PSU's, you could swap it out for a beefy EVGA 500B unit and drop in a better GPU like a GTX660Ti...if you need that graphical horsepower seeing how you have an Intel Sandy Bridge i7.

OEM systems often have modified BIOSes (if not entirely unique mainboards in the first place) which won't allow any other graphics cards. If you are unlucky enough to have such a PC, you might not be able to change your graphics card at all, or only between a few selected models.

Edit: Upon googling your model, it seems there never was a version of it that had a dedicated graphics card. I could very well imagine that HP completely blocked the use of dedicated GPUs. Sorry to tell you this :(

Edit 2: Upon some deeper digging, I could find out that the first answer by Lutfij is correct. GT(X) 700 series cards and newer are incompatible to the "old" HP BIOSes. However, it seems the 600 series and older should successfully work with your HP system ;)
(There's also a mention of special GTX 750 (Ti) cards from ASUS that have a special legacy BIOS that would also work with your system.)
