Hello, i don't have much knowledge on UPS's so i thought it would be easier making a topic. How many VA and Watts does my ups need to have to support my pc? Specs: MSI GTX980 GAMING 4G i5 4690 8GB Ram Corsair CS650M PSU My previous UPS works when my pc is at idle, but when im gaming it doesnt work and just shuts down everything. Note: i only need the UPS to last 5mins or so when there are electricity shutdowns.

You could go with a line interactive topology UPS with positive feedback from the buyers in order to not spend so much money but still getting a good UPS like this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OFXKFI/ref=s9_acsd_top_hd_bw_b3Cto_c_x_2_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-3&pf_rd_r=B225W1Z6JRYQ3Q4YRJRM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=92dac3d0-4ad8-5e84-b87d-4a65ff94e801&pf_rd_i=764572&th=1

Or if you want to make completely sure that your computer will not shutdown as soon as the power goes you would have to step up to an online topology UPS, unfortunately this type of UPS is expensive, but it’s superior also, something like this would be great...

Only an online topology UPS gives a “0 milliseconds transfer time” when a power outage occurs while all other types of UPS have a transfer time that is usually 4 milliseconds, during which some of the equipment connected to the UPS seldom shutdowns.

In that case I would not go lower than 1300 VA or 800 Watts in order to have some room to upgrade, maybe even 1500 VA or 900 Watts.
