I have a brand new Antec BP450S and planning to buy a 4 years old Seasonic S12II-520 for almost the same price as BP450S.
I have
pentium g4560
asrock b250m
8 gb ram
1 Samsung 120gb 750 evo
two 1TB 7200 RPM HDDs

I like to ask out of the two PSUs above which to use for the system. I can use the other for testing purposes.
If both are new, Seasonic win hands down. Since it is 4 years old i have to take a decision.

I dont game so no graphics card.
Mainly i use this system to safeguard data so reliability is more important.
Buying new seasonic is out of my budget and also not available anywhere in my location(India).

Thank you

Depends when you bought the Seasonic. If you bought it after September 2012, seasonic as they hold a 5 year warranty, and if still works, its still under warranty. If bought before then, it's only 3 years, but seasonic are good quality components, so if it has been looked after well, I'd say its perfectly fine. Additionally warranty is the period they easily expect the component to last if not faulty or misused, meaning it could last another year or 2 if looked after well.

If you're not sure on how well it's been looked after, I would sooner go for a newer PSU. Antec do sell for a budget, but they meet the required ratings and standards at the end of the day...

The seller told seasonic has been lightly used and in good condition. I planned to use it for my system mentioned above. As I believe New basic Antec PSU cant outclass used Seasonic.
