Lost power, internet connection with router/modem is "broken"

So last night there was some hefty storms that came in with no warning and before I knew it the power was tripped off for a second before ultimately going out completely until just a couple hours ago. oddly enough, the first 5 or 10 minutes of me waking up and booting up the computer, I had internet connectivity. It was like normal. All of sudden, I get disconnected from my online game and my Internet connection now has "No Internet Access" and all troubleshooting leads to no avail.

The troubleshooter said the access point between my router/modem/cable is broken or something. I've reset both my router and modem at least 10 times now, waiting even several minutes before plugging them back in...same results.

I've went to CMD and typed ipconfig /flushdns, /release /renew,

I've tried netsh winsock reset,

I've tried Microsoft's TCP/IP stack FixIt

I've tried resetting the adapter, I've tried everything I have the past when something like this arises. However, this IS the first time it's actually said the specific message of "broken access point".

I have all access to the actual network. Just no internet connection. Nothing seems to be working. On my Modem, after a short while of it being on, the light that indicates your WAN cable plugged in for internet is blinking at the same rate as another icon that I dont even know what it is to be honest, looks like a door with an arrow.

Right now I'm using a tethered USB connection from my phone to type this on the PC.

Any and all help is appreciated, although I'm starting to think it's either on my ISP's end or the modem/router is shot finally.

thanks in advance.

So when you plug it in you can access the router and other devices on your network?

If you ping the router it works? what about pinging other computers?

The ethernet port is the best means for stray voltage to escape durring a power outage so it is very common for it to fry during a power outage (hint hint you should be getting a UPS).

But if you have full LAN access and just not internet access then this is much more weird unless the router itself is shot.

Can other devices connect to the internet?

My phone was able to connect to the wifi put out by my router/modem. Plugging the cable into the modem and directly into my PC didn't seem to work either. I don't know what ping means (to ping the router) but yes the router comes up on my Networks and I can explore it's properties and what not. Other devices as well, my hitachi tv shows up as well. Just no internet access. so frustrating, I feel like ive had this problem before but it fixed itself rather quickly after a couple of unplugging of router/modem. this time something is consistently not working correctly. thanks for the replies both of you sorry i am not much help
