Hey guys,
So i have a question, i play overwatch and i get around 60-80 fps on low settings, wich is playeble off course but i have a 144hz monitor because i used to play minecraft and there i got more than 144fps but i stopped playing it and i would like to play overwatch at 144hz. Now i feel like if i would buy a better gpu like a 1060, my cpu would bottleneck it... But i don't know if buying a better cpu would increase my fps enough to get 144fps, i don't mind playing on low settings ofcourse i would prefer high settings but i don't really care about that. And i can't really overclock my cpu on this motherboard.

My specs:
Cpu: AMD Athlon x4 860k at 3.70 Ghz
Gpu: Zotac 1050ti mini
Motherboard: MSI fm2-a55m-e33
Cooling: Stock
RAM: 8gb
Memory: 1TB HDD

Solution
The i7 7700 + B250 board will likely be both cheaper and faster than a 7600K + Z270 board + aftermarket cooler. Be aware that 1xx chipset boards (e.g. Z170) will not work with Kaby Lake CPUs without having a recent BIOS installed, so it's a safer bet to buy a Z270 (or B250/H270) board. An i7 is not overkill if you're aiming for 144fps, which is very difficult to achieve in many games.
There are no better CPUs for your motherboard. How much are you willing to spend?

A Pentium G4560 + B250 motherboard + DDR4 RAM would be the least expensive upgrade, but not huge in terms of performance.

A Ryzen 1400 or 1600 + B350 board + DDR4 would be significant.

An i7 7700 or 7700K + B250 or Z270 motherboard + DDR4 would be the largest improvement, but the most expensive.

i am willing to spend around 600-700 max, i myself was thinking about an i5-7600k-gtx 1060 3gb-asus z170l motherboard-cooler master hyper 212. I think the cpu is overkill but i am not sure.
