I'm building a RYZEN rig and i need help choosing between two PSUs
One is the Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro 650 and the other is Antec Edge 750 Both are 80Plus gold.
My rig details
CPU ryzen 5 1600
Mobo Asus Strix B350-f
GPU GTX1060 Xtreme gaming (Gigabyte)
HDD x2
Ram Gskill Flare-x 8x2 3200mhz

When i worked out in the wattage calculator it said the Load Wattage and 535W and it recommened a 602W PSU.
(I calculated keeping in mind over clocking the cpu and gpu. However i didn add a liquid cooler to the calculator but will be adding in the rig in the future)

The above mentioned PSUs are the only decent brands that i could find inside my budget.
Antec edge 750 is rs7232 (112usd)
and the earthwatt Gold Pro 650 rs7440 (116usd)

Right now my assumption was neither the wattage nor the price is the is gonna be a problem but choosing the better one of them both (Not brilliant enough to read the ratings)
Please do lemme know if my assumption is wrong.

I've got no idea which one to choose. Please help

I would go for the 750w out of those 2, although the PSU calculators are good, they are not completely accurate, its just an estimate, some parts will use more watts than it predicts and some less, so give yourself some headroom with the 750w, plus its modular which is defo an added bonus, only use the cables you need, less clutter.

If you plan to overclock the CPU for instance, you can add another 30 watts to the stock wattage which is 65w taking it upto about 95w+, and the graphics card overclock, then theres case fans etc.

Its a bit worrying that the 750w is cheaper than the 650w, maybe its the better seller so they can sell it cheaper or is it on a deal ? but Antec make decent PSU's

I have a 1000w Leadtek Platinum PSU, many people commented that its way overkill for my system, however I got it on a deal, I was looking at 850w PSU's, my 1000w was £30 more expensive than the 850w counter part but with free delivery, whereas I would of had to pay delivery on the 850w, so only cost me £20 more at the end of the day, and makes me future proof.

Actually, both units are way more than enough for your system. But to answer your question directly, get the Antec Edge 750 - it is the slightly-better-quality and best (cheaper) deal between the two PSUs in question.

The Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro 650 (EA650G Pro) is made by FSP, only rated at 40C oper. temp., and has 3-year warranty. It only provides 600W (50A) at the +12V rail and has 2x 6+2pin PCIE connectors.

On the other hand, the Antec Edge 750 (EDG750) is made by Seasonic (one of the best OEMs in the business), rated at 50C oper. temp., and has 5-year warranty. It provides 744W (62A) in two 40A +12V rails and has 6x 6+2pin PCIE connectors.

I had the same worries. the 750 and 650 both being at almost the same prices. Both the sellers are pretty decent . You can get components from them for competitive price. The 750w is a discontinued product and in one of the reviews i read that the +5v ripple is undesirable. Is that something to be worried about?

The fact that its a discontinued product is probably the reason for the price, for a quick sale, I wouldnt base my decision on 1 review, you said they are both 80 plus gold and have to pass a certain standard to rate them at gold, id try and find end user reviews on it, theres a few reviews of the product here, and it got good reviews apart from a couple of people who received it DOA: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371079

Guess its solved then. I live in india so you can expect the operating temp to be high by default and crazy fluctuations. And If its made by seasonic there is no point in having second thoughts about it. Gonna go with Edge 750.

Thanks for sharing your insight. Good day

Yea your probably right. It might be cheaper because of the same reason. I better order it before the stock runs out. There are some tax amendments happening in the country and the prices are starting to spike. I guess this is a wonderful deal at this time.

Thanks a ton for helping me out bruv. I can finally feel safe. Cos right now i own a corsair VS550 in my older rig. No way im going forward with that PSU on my new PC
