Hey TH Forums...

Long time lurker here. Been travelling and working for a few years and I'm finally settling down so I can sell my gaming laptop build a real PC. It's been a while and I'm a little out of the loop so I was hoping for some feedback on a new rig before I purchase the parts. If I'm being an idiot, I'd rather know now than realize it when the parts arrive at my house... :) Here's the list.

Core i7 7700k
Evga GTX 1080 Hybrid
Corsair CX750
Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI
Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8GB) DDR4 2133MHz
Corsair H80i v2
Corsair Carbide 400Q

I'll be running a 1440p G-Sync display. I was considering mounting the GPU rad at the front intake of the case, using a 120mm-140mm bracket so it has two fans sucking air through it. Then mounting the H80i at the back of the case as the exhaust. I have SSD's already, so they're not on the list.

Any feedback welcome, especially if there are better budget overclocking boards for the 7700k. I'll probably never go SLI, so the PSU should be good.

Thanks in advance <3

You can't use a Z170 board with the I7 7700K unless you will update his BIOS (to do that you need a skylake CPU).

If you don't have a skylake CPU / you don't want to update the BIOS you will need a Z270 board.
