4GB RAM installed (1.45 usable) - help

I bought a pc and installed 4 gb ram but i checked the specs and it say 1.45 gb usable how is that possible.....Please Help

It is your integrated GPU taking some memory for itself. You'll need to install Windows 64-bit to use more than 4GB of RAM.

Any 32-bit Windows installation caps the total available memory at 4GB, no matter how much physical memory you actually have installed in the machine.

But 1.45 seems a bit too low. there is a chance it's a faulty module.
