So my current computer is a Dell Inspiron 3650, Intel Core i3-6100 @3.7 GHz, Intel HD Graphics 530, 8GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 240 W Power Supply.

I get poor fps when I play games like H1Z1: King of the KIll, Overwatch, ARK: Survival Evolved. And I want to get PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds but my computer can't run it.

So I'm deciding to get an EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti. I have an empty PCI Express x16 slot on my motherboard. My power supply is only 240 W and only powers the motherboard and the cpu. Since 240 W probably isn't enough to power my computer with the graphics card, I'm deciding to get a new PSU maybe at least 400w. I might get an EVGA 400w power supply. The motherboard uses an 8pin connector so I know I might need a 24pin to 8pin connector. And the cpu uses a 4pin connector. Also for some reason the pin on the motherboard currently uses 8pins but i only see 7 wires. I will attach a picture below.

So my questions are:
-What power supply should I use that will fit my case, has at least 400w, and have the cables I will need to power my motherboard and cpu?
-Why is there only 7 wires on the 8pin connector for the motherboard?
-Does the EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti need a power connector or does it get its power from the motherboard?
-If my PSU doesn't fit can I leave it outside the case? Is it safe?

Hi :)

Gtx 750 TI is an old gpu of 2014. If you want a new gpu you have to avoid the gtx 750 Ti.
In the 2015 there was Nvidia gtx 900 series.
In the 2016 Nvidia annunced the new gtx 1000 series.

You can't put anyone gpu because your psu has only 240w.
Sorry for the truth but there is another problem. Your psu and your motherboard don' t have the standard 24 Pin Computer Power Connectors.
You have to change your psu and yourmotherboard.

What's your monitor?

What's your budget max for psu, motherboard and gpu?

What's the use of pc?

My monitor is a 60Hz 1920x1080 AOC Monitor, That's all I know.
My budget is $200.
And I don't know what you mean by what's the use of pc.
Why can't I use a 24pin to 8pin adapter instead of getting another motherboard?
