simple question, which one is going to have better performance, g4560 on a b250 mobo with 2400mhz ram or i3-6100 on a h110 with 2133mhz ram? which combo should I get? thanks
thank you both for the answers, i will go with the b250 board, and probably the g4560. don't think the i3-7100 is worth either, if i have the money i'll try to get the i5-7400
If you have the money for an i5, it might be a better idea to go with AMD's socket AM4. Ryzen offers a tremendous value right now, and the 1400 is generally a better choice than the 7400.
i'm going to pair it with a 1050ti, and the ryzen seems to have worse performance for gaming compared to the i5, and that's the only reason why i don't like the ryzen
Depends on the particular CPUs. Intel chips have faster per-clock performance, while Ryzen CPUs have more cores and threads. However, the 7400 has a relatively low clockspeed, and the Ryzen 1400 is unlocked. Even at stock, it wins in most newer games.
when i checked the benchmarks and stuff a few months ago the i5's had way better gaming performance, i guess the bios updates and stuff optimized ryzen's performance? might consider it then
I don't think either is a wrong choice, but IMO the Pentium G4560 is the best choice under $100, Ryzen is the way to go between $150 and $250, and for gaming, an i7 is best above $300, while Ryzen offers a strong value for more mixed workloads.
