All of this started happening when I finished cleaning up the card. I used 70% isopropryl alcohol to remove the thermal paste, canned air to blow off the dust trapped in the heatsink fins and all - standard stuff. i installed it, fired my computer up and it was looking fine till white horizontal covering practically the whole screen popped up. My mobo speaker did a low pitch beep so that didn't help ease me at all. I tried it on another computer and there was no problem at all up until I installed drivers. Same symptoms again- white lines then blank. Does anyone know what to do about this? It just seemed so planned if that's the correct word, after I clean it then all this happened. I don't think I screwed anything up at all while cleaning it. I really do hope I didn't break anything physically, the same thing happened to the last card I cleaned and that card broke. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Or if this is purely on the hardware side and I'm screwed? I'm very, very desperate as this is very pricey. Thank you to everyone in advance!

EDIT: I restarted my computer and now it doesn't even display anything at all. This is terribly frustrating

I held the fan while blowing it so it didn't spin at all except for maybe this one time I forgot to hold it. I really hope it's not a hardware problem. do you think it's because I rubbed the gpu too hard with a qtip? there was alcohol though, I soaked the whole thing in alcohol and rubbed on it.you don't think it's also because I rubbed like small rectangular things around the chip too hard as well right? I'm really panicking right now

question is how much alcohol did u apply?is it on the que tip or u apply the alcohol directly onto the chip?

I put it both on the qtip and the chip. Basically I bathed it in alcohol. I hope that's not that culprit.

the word bathed just make me cringe a lil bit XD.i have a 980ti as well and i clean them with alcohol wipe.nothing special.and it serve me well til this day.bathing in alcohol could be the issue here.i suggest repasting the card and let it rest for a few days and see how it turns out.

well that shows I'm a smartass when it comes to these things, thought it was perfectly fine with soaking the core in alcohol aha. I will do as you said, fingers crossed I hope it works. It's so weird though, the same exact thing happened with my 7950 - I cleaned it then the same symptoms happened, the core bath does seem like thats where I went wrong. Thank you very much though!
