What is the best budget red and black motherboard that is compatible with an Intel i3 550 and 8gb of DDR3 RAM?

I recently bought a prebuilt computer for the parts, which included:
- 4x2gb of DDR3 RAM
- An intel i3 550

The theme of my gaming computer is red and black and my case supports micro-ATX motherboards. I had trouble finding a good motherboard that fit my preferences. Any suggestions?

You are having trouble finding a motherboard because that CPU is about 7 years old. Nothing NEW is being made for that CPU. You bought a really old prebuilt computer. I hope you didn't pay much.

$100 for a functioning computer is OK. But to worry about a color scheme on a 7 year old HP prebuilt is kind of like putting lipstick on a pig. Use this computer as-is while saving money for components that can satisfy your desire for a theme computer.

Well, I bought a GTX 1050 to go along with it, and I think that it is bottlenecking it. That's why I want to give it an upgrade and give it a nice look aswell.

It probably IS bottlenecking. Find a used i7-860, i7-870 or i7-870K CPU and replace the CPU and cooler. Those are the fastest CPUs that your motherboard supports according to the link you provided. That is the upgrade you should do, not a motherboard swap.

Nothing new will be available. Ebay and China (21 days shipping) seems to be it for these older boards =(

I had one of these with an I3-530 and 1600 DDR3 on 200FSB for 4.4 GHz.

I sold my board to a friend to repair his P55 I7-860 system. Never found a decent board to get the I3-530 running again. Bought a $30 ECS Z87 Matx and G3258 and reused the RAM. Good luck finding a working 1156 with an I/O shield.

Well, I found out that an i5 760 is good aswell. Which one do you suggest?

$72 I7-860 in the HP board for performance, then cut a window into your case. Add transparent red plexiglass and red led strips around the plexiglass to light the motherboard. That should make the green and blue look black and white turn red.
