I'm using a desktop PC in a basement without access to any Ethernet cables, so therefore trying to set up a wireless connection.

My system: ASUS ASRock Extreme3 mobo, Corsair RM650X PSU

Wireless Router: ASUS-RT-AC3100

Windows 7 Ultimate (South Korea), Location: Canada

When I go into "set up an internet connection" in Windows I am presented with only one option: broadband...I'm sorry I forget the precise wording (I've disconnected everything and am on a laptop now.) When I search "wifi" in Windows I come up with no results.

Is it just a matter of getting a wifi adaptor USB? I could have sworn I used wireless internet in Korea a few times, but my system has since been disassembled/reassembled/partially upgraded since then.

Also unable to get Ubuntu out of 640x480 resolution with my new 1440p monitor, but I suppose that's a topic for another thread.

Thanks!

Solution
Your motherboard does not appear to have wireless builtin.

You will need a USB wifi adapter or a PCI-E wireless card to receive wireless.

Have you tried installing the graphics drivers from intel, amd or nvidia's website?

Oh really? Thanks!

I believe I have already installed the drivers that came on the disc with my EVGA 1070, if that's what you mean.
