Clone SSD issues

Ok so i just finished cloning my HDD to a new SSD. My SSD works and starts with no issue via the SATA port but i am trying to use it externally via external cable I get Inaccessible boot device. but I can start up in windows safe mode with no problem. Any ideas?

Assuming this is a Windows OS...booting from an external generally does not work.

But...we'd really need much. much more info on this system and how you did the clone thing.
