So I recently got a ASUS strix 1070 oc edition, I'm not sure what a safe overclock for this card is, I saw in some vids people cranking voltage up to 100, but I'm not so sure if that's safe or not, my memory clock is about 500 and CPU clock is 122 and voltage is 30, is it ok to put voltage on 100 and increase the CPU and memory clock up more? If not can someone please post a safe overclock for the strix 1070 oc version, thanks.

Furmark only serves to cook things....it's a great heat generator, bout it. Really shouldn't be using it for testing. You're hitting the power limit, btw....it's throttling because of it.

it depends i could give you a number for the stable oc that i have for my 1070 but i doubt it would work in the same way. not every gpu is the same when it comes to overclocking. the overclocking numbers you will have to find out yourself. and those numbers you are reading seems like what your clocks are at, it might be because of power saving feature on the 1070. and when i overclock a gpu i always put the powerlimit to the max it will go and see what i can get with just the powerlimit slider set to as far as it will go. there will be a good safe oc on one 1070 wont be the same on another. when it comes to overclocking it can vary from chip to chip. i hope more people will read this and stop asking what are some good overclock numbers for their gpu.

also there are loads of guides on youtube for overclocking your GPU it might be able to give you some information that i might have missed

Alright, can I see your overclock numbers if you can?

Pascal is all about the temps. The cooler they run, the higher you'll be able to clock, and the better it'll run there. Watch some tutorials on how to use the voltage / frequency curve, and start playing around with it. It's very much a balancing act....added voltage, if you can keep it cool enough, can add more core clock, but the additional heat may just make it throttle, or become unstable. Ya just have to jump in and figure out what your GPU can do, and where it runs the best.

Remember: the cooler, the better.
