I have an and Radeon r7 260x 2gb gpu, I am looking for an good gaming monitor for around $150-$175 1080 p but if we could get something that's 1440 p would my gpu be able to handle it, I also have an and fx 8350 black edition CPU 4.0 ghz turbo up to 4.2.

Solution

Stick with 1080p or lower. That 2GB card is not very good on two fronts. One, it's an older mid-range card that is okay with 1080p. It's happiest at 720p. Secondly it only has 2GB of VRAM which means AA, textures and resolutions will need to be kept at lower settings or off. Not saying it can't deal with AA and 1080p. Only saying that 2GB of VRAM is very limiting. It all depends on the game.

Even if your GPU (or future GPU upgrade) can handle 1440p, your $175 max. budget won't allow it. So, in the 1080p monitors, since you have an AMD Radeon GPU that supports FreeSync (via DisplayPort), I'd look into such monitors having that feature for variable refresh rates/smoother gameplay:

AOC - G2460VQ6 24.0" 1920x1080 75Hz Monitor ($169.99 @ B&H)

AOC - G2260VWQ6 21.5" 1920x1080 75Hz Monitor ($119.99 @ Best Buy)
