It may be easier to purchase a extender which plugs in the wall outlet and connects to your router which relays it to a different point in your house aka improving the signal.

I know that wires can be iffy just because you have to drill and than wire where you want it if you at least want a clean install.

Even that you can purchase the same router if it's inexpensive and setup bridge.

The holes already exist. I have a sort of underground tubing network for all the cables. I would like to keep the option of cable connections because some of my equipment here can only connect to the internet through cable

I researched about that as an option but it won't work in my case. Thus asking if what I talked about above would work in my case because the 4 ethernet ports would come in handy in the future
